Chapter 69. Who Is Nora White?

“Who’s this young girl, Nikolas? I’ve never seen her before?” asked the woman called Nora, making Brooklyn look up with wide eyes.

“This is Brooklyn Davis. I want you to take her under your wing, Nora. Teach her everything about the store here, our products, and groom her well,” said Nikolas.

Shocked at his request, Brooklyn stared at both of them, feeling insulted. How could he insult her in front of this woman? Why would she need to be groomed, that too, by a stranger? But she said nothing, feeling disheartened already.

Suddenly she hated San Francisco, but mostly she hated this establishment and didn’t want to work here at all under Nora’s ‘wing’. Nikolas looked at her with concern, seeing her pale face and downcast eyes.

“Brooklyn, meet Nora White. She’s in charge of this distribution center here. Although she’s the only woman here, she doesn’t have any qualms about it. I’m sure that you can learn from her how she manages it all,” said Nikolas, making Nor
