Chapter 68. Back for Her

“Umm, so did you drive all the way from Napa Valley this morning?” she asked curiously, unable to control herself any longer.

Nikolas chuckled and opened the car door for her without answering her question. Brooklyn climbed into the passenger seat, thanking him, wondering what uplifted his mood so suddenly. He leaned in and pulled the strap across her body, his face inches away from hers.

Brooklyn watched him with hooded eyes, his scent making her tingle all over. When done, Nikolas turned and looked deeply into her eyes, his face so close that she forgot to breathe.

“I came in last night when you were moaning out my name in your dream,” he said, his lips twitching wickedly as he gazed at her pink, parted mouth with longing.
