Chapter 76. Close to His Heart
“Come here,” he said, opening his uninjured arm out to her. Brooklyn’s cheeks flushed with color and she went a little closer to him. “Closer,” he said, his eyes not leaving hers for even a second.
Brooklyn blushed all the more and went a little closer, her cheeks flushing with more color. Nikolas grinned, finding her shyness very adorable. He caught her hand and pulled her closer to his body, his arm going around her waist, clamping her flush against his hot torso. A gasp escaped Brooklyn’s mouth, and she placed her hand on his chest.
“You’re injured, Nikolas. What are you doing?” she whispered, acutely aware of his face inches away from hers.
“Only my arm’s hurt. Can’t I hold you close to my heart for a while?” he asked, his piercing gaze drinking her in.
