“I’m feeling better already. I’d like to get discharged as soon as possible,” said Nikolas.

“I don’t think they will discharge you today, maybe tomorrow,” she told him.

“Will you come home to Napa Valley with me, Brooklyn? I won’t let you stay here all alone,” asked Nikolas, staring at her hopefully. Brooklyn nodded with a smile.

“Yes,” she said, making Nikolas’s eyes widened with surprise. He hadn’t expected her to agree so easily.

“You will? I can’t believe this!” he said with a laugh. “Then what are we waiting for? I’ll ask Nora to pack your stuff, lock the apartment, and bring your things here. The moment I’m discharged, we can go home,” said Nikolas. He just couldn’t contain the excitement bubbling inside him. He had returned since he couldn’t go back without her. Now he was happy that he had returned.

“Okay,” said Brooklyn eagerly. She could feel his excited glance upon her as they finished their breakfast together on his bed from the same table.
