Chapter 9
Deiseree’s POV
After we finished eating, I took a shower and got dressed in my pajamas. I saw Luke sitting on the couch, and he seemed to be waiting for me to finish what I was doing. I stared at my brother. He really took after my father. They looked really alike—pointy nose, red lips, and narrow but bright eyes. His jet-black hair was a bit curly.
Chris, on the other hand, had our mother’s features. I guessed I was the only one who didn’t inherit anything from Mom and Dad. If you looked at me, I looked different because of my round eyes. Some even mistook me for being Indian because of my appearance. I had big, round eyes, long and curly lashes, thick brows, and I was a little hairy—if that counted.
Dad said that I inherited my looks from my grandmother on my mother’s side, but I didn’t know what she looked like either, because there were no pictures or anything that I could find. I couldn’t even find a single photo of our mother when we left our house a
