“Okay,” Anna said again.
She set her plate on the ground. “Don’t get mad that I didn’t tell you sooner, but previously when I worked as a computer analyst, there weren’t that many women in the office. I’m not saying there aren’t any women in the technological sector, but in Techfam, where I worked, there were very few.”
She picked up her plate and started to play with a strand of spaghetti. “Don’t stop eating on my account,” she said, pointing at Heather’s untouched plate. “It’ll get all cold and sticky, and then you’ll go around telling Zac I make horrible spaghetti.”
“I won’t, don’t worry, just keep talking, okay? And by the way, my attempts at cooking alone are even worse than cold spaghetti, so you have nothing to be worried about,” Heather replied.
She picked up her fork and brought some strands to her mouth. Anna watched her swallow the mouthful
and started to eat as well.
