Chapter 17
Heather accepted the coffee he proffered with much gratitude and kept on editing. An idea popped into her head after she was done.
“Hey, Zac,” she said gingerly. “Do you think you could help me practice for tomorrow’s presentation? I would do it at home, but my roommate gets really intense about these things...”
She trailed off, remembering the night before her first-ever presentation. Anna made her talk until her throat was dry. It was a miracle she was able to get any sleep at all that night, and even more miraculous that she was able to present the next day.
She shuddered. “Please don’t make me go through that. It’ll only take a little time, I promise.”
“Even if it would take a lot of time, I’d still help you,” Zac said.
They stared into each other’s eyes for a long time till Heather ruined it with her sneezing.
“Cold?” he asked, shrugging off his jacket. He didn’t even let her reply before draping it on her shoulders, letting its warmth
