Chapter 16
Monday morning rolled around, and Heather arrived at work bright and early.
She hadn’t forgotten to set her alarm the previous day. The traffic was light, so the journey to work was easy and smooth, and the attendant at MarbucksCoffee finally spelled the name on her order right.
It was looking like it would be a good day.
She remembered to sign at the register and greeted the cleaning staff with a warm smile.
Things were going great until she got to her desk, powered on her system, and saw that she had an email from the Bakerz representative.
With every word she read, the smile on her face slipped away until it vanished into nothing, having been replaced by an angry scowl.
Heather stomped angrily to Igalmen’s office. ‘Would he be in yet?’ she wondered, stopping at the door and listening to see if the fan was on.
It was. ‘Good,’ she thought, then opened the door without knocking.
Igalmen was hunched over his laptop when she burst in.
