Alpha Lokris’s POV

"On your knees!" I growled at the werewolf before me. He shook like a leaf blown by a heavy wind. But that didn’t make me feel pity for him. I was angry. Who had dared betray me?

"Alpha." He said in greeting as he went on his knees, still fidgeting.

"What is your name?"

"Taiban, Alpha."

"You were one of the werewolves who brought a girl to me, correct?"

"Yes, Alpha."

"Do you know the whereabouts of that girl?"

"I do not understand you, Alpha."

His head was still bowed, but I heard the confusion in his voice. Was he pretending, or did he genuinely not know?

"Where is that human girl you and your partner brought to me?"

"We left her here. I don’t know what you’re talking about, Alpha. She is here. In your pack."

"No, she isn’t. But your partner is."
