"Well, you’re right about that."
"What?"
"Our story truly is miserable, and our life is pathetic."
I understood what she was trying to insinuate. Again. I don’t know how things like this work, and as I’ve made it known to myself, I wasn’t ready. I wasn’t even past the ‘stunned stage.’ I was yet to believe all these stories Lia was telling me were some significant part of how my life was supposed to go, all because of some broken balance between two worlds, and yes, that suddenly reminded me.
"Lia?"
"Hm?"
"When you said there was some kind of wobbly change in the balance between two strong and significant worlds, what are these worlds?"
I had my guess, but I wanted to confirm it with her.
"Say your guess."
"I still don’t like the fact that you can fully and uninhibitedly read my mind while yours is closed against me."
"Like I said, take your grievances to the Moon Goddess."
