Chapter 17. Beleaguered

Gina’s two canines started to grow as she smiled broadly. Emerging from inside the room was a woman Richard recognized as Gina’s manager. Now her eyes had turned red. Richard couldn’t believe he’d been fooled all this time. He had never thought that this beautiful woman, who was a famous actress, was a vampire.

Vampires could indeed roam during the day like ordinary humans, unlike what was told in most fairy tales or movies. They could be exposed to sunlight, even though their skin was very sensitive, especially their eyes. They couldn’t stay in the hot sun for a long time because they would burn to dust. Richard should have been suspicious because Gina always wore long sleeves and sunglasses when going out of the room.
