Chapter 69. Tonight

"Hi Chloe!" She sounds happy, which makes me smile. "What’s happening?"

"I-um....I just wanted to tell you that this morning I broke up with Zeus." I mutter while adjusting the bottom of my sweater. "You were right, we are too different, and I knew it on my own. He’s no longer coming."

"Oh honey, I’m sorry. I know you’ve been seeing him for almost a month." She is quiet. I feel like I’m going to cry, but I have to keep my cool for the call.

"But still, I want to come." I said it.

"Of course, honey. You are always welcome. Are you sure you’re not too upset?" When she asks, I sigh.

"No, I’m not." I try to sound sure of myself. "Actually, I was wondering if you could set the table for four more people." When I mumble, she stops.

"You have four boyfriends?" She makes fun of me, which makes me laugh for the first time since I woke up. "Who for?"
