Chapter 72

With Vince and me working once again and making money, I felt as if my life was slowly coming back together. I felt as if all the terrible things that were happening and had happened in our past were already over.

This fantasy that I was living in with Vince by my side did not last as long as I thought. And, when the disaster came, it came in a way that Vince and I weren’t prepared for.

I came back late in the evening when I saw Vince holding our child, Oliver, in his hand and telling me that he couldn’t breathe properly.

“Our child is dying,” Vince cried out to me.

“What are you talking about?” I said and ran towards them and tried to touch my child, but Vince pulled him away.

“Don’t touch him! Just call the ambulance. Our baby is dying!”
