I turned to see who it was and found Jake standing by the door. He noticed my hands held Lena's. I watched in slow motion as his brow furrowed. But I didn't bother to distance myself from Lena. I didn't want to.
"If you don't mind, Jake, leave. Lena and I are having a moment. We're discussing something important, and it's none of your business. Okay?" I warned.
I intended to provoke my brother. Every time I thought about him and saw him, anger consumed me. He was my brother, yes. I loved him. But I had anger towards him because he took advantage of Lena and our divorce to be with the woman I loved.
"What are you doing here, Dean? Let her go. Why are you crying, Lena? Has this guy done something to you?" he asked, approaching her.
"I have done nothing to her. And be thankful that I'm here with her because you left her alone in the apartment, and when I got there, she fainted on the couch. I
