Lena didn't respond to my message all day. I waited eagerly and excitedly, but she ignored me. I considered the possibility that she didn't see the message, but I dismissed that option. Maybe she got scared and didn't want to respond. Or didn't she reply because of Jake?

My mind was in chaos. I felt weak and tired.

My driver picked me up at the airport and took me home. Carla didn't know that I had traveled to see her. I came back as a surprise. I bought a bouquet of her favorite flowers to lighten the impending fight between us.

I arrived home. I opened the door and was unpleasantly surprised.
