Chapter 14. Plan

I went back to the hotel to rest. I hoped to be with Lena, take care of her, protect her, and comfort her, but Jake was there to do that. It was tough seeing that Lena preferred to be with Jake. I remember Jake once told me that Lena would be his girlfriend. After hearing that, he and I had a big fight, and we drifted apart. My parents found out about the discussion and took my side. It's the reason Jake left the pack. The worst part was that Jake wasn't wrong: Destiny brought Lena and Jake together. And it was my fault. I handed Lena over to him. I forced her to seek solace in my brother's arms.

I would regret it for the rest of my life.

My phone received dozens of messages for the past hour. I didn't pay attention. I didn't have time for anyone.

I tried to sleep, but my mind kept wandering. The memory of Lena holding Jake's hands bothered me. But then my phone started ringing. I ignored the call until my patience ran out.<
