Chapter 51. You Matter

Jake quickly got out of the car. I know he felt concerned seeing Lena unconscious in my arms. My brother ran toward us. Carla got out of the car.

"What happened, Dean? What did they do to her?" Jake stroked Lena's face and heard her heart.

"She'll be unconscious for now, Jake. We need to take her home to rest. Isabella said Lena can't stay alone. She'll need our help. Things are going to happen, Jake."

"What things?" he asked.

"I'm not sure, but they'll be difficult for Lena to process," I commented.

Jake got into the truck. I didn't want to leave Lena with him, so I carried her in my car.
