“I don’t think they’re in this pack.”

“But what if they are?”

“Well, at least you won’t be away from the pack, Selene,” Michael answered offhandedly.

“I don’t think you’re actually paying attention to me,” Selene sulked.

“I’m sorry.” He dropped the book he was reading and turned to her. “I am now.”

They were both in Selene’s room, sitting side by side on her bed. Michael had been reading a book Selene recently got for him. The book was about historical mages. Selene didn’t understand why he loved reading such books. She always found the prospect of spells confusing, and seeing as she was a werewolf, she’d never really get to do anything spell-related.

Michael didn’t share her views, though. He found the idea of wielding nature to perform powerful spells amazing. Selene loved nature. She just did not love the witchy part of it.
