Chapter 28
Everyone in the ballroom went back to what they were doing before Alpha Derek caused a scene. Selene still had her gaze on the doors Charlotte and Ian had walked out of.
“Selene, let it go. It’s not in our place to interfere,” Alpha Bennet said to his daughter.
He could not help thinking she was so much like her mother. Margot could never stand by and watch something she knew was wrong. She always had to interfere, even when she was not needed. Margot had gotten Bennet in a lot of trouble in their early years due to her penchant for sticking her nose where it did not belong.
“Do you think Luna Charlotte will be okay, Papa?” Selene asked her father in a low voice as she kept her gaze fixed on the ballroom door.
“I don’t know,” Bennet answered his daughter honestly.
Her father’s answer caused Selene to worry more, and she hurried out of the ballroom in hopes of catching Luna Charlotte and Ian before they got to Alpha Derek.
