Selene froze as she heard the voice. She knew that voice. She found it strange how she could recognize it anywhere when she had only heard it a handful of times.

“I don’t think that I look like that shadow of yours,” another voice said, this one having a sultry undertone she could also recognize anywhere.

She held the chains like they were her anchor as she heard the footsteps coming closer. A body stood before her, its presence commanding her to look up, and she did. Alpha Damon stood before her like a lion poised on the top of a hill. The moonlight made him look more dangerous than usual; his red hair seemed to trap each light and his eyes were piercing as they stared at her.

“You seem to be controlling the moon tonight, Selene,” Alpha Darius spoke beside her.
