“Why?”

“What do you mean?”

“Why is he coming?”

“Why shouldn’t he?”

“This is an official trip, so I don’t get why the warrior is coming?”

Selene was more or less in dire need of peace. Michael had been asking her these exact questions since the night before. After they had finished packing her clothes for the short trip, or as Michael preferred to call it, her whole wardrobe, they lay in bed just talking.

Selene told Michael how the thought of her actually finding her fated mate made her very nervous and how it also made her sad when she remembered that her mom and brother would not be there for it.

Michael turned on his side and hugged her to him. “You won’t be alone, though,” he whispered to her while he patted her hair softly. “I’d be there, your father will be there with you too, and you’ll have your mom and brother in your heart too. Not to mention your wolf, whom I’ve still not had the opportunity to meet, but I know she’s a badass.” T
