Chapter 28
Emma cupped Leo’s chin and kissed him. She didn’t know that talking to Scott had offended him so deeply.
“I’m sorry you feel this way,” she said. “But I didn’t see anything bad in talking to him. I’m intent on becoming an actress, and I want to start honing my acting skills.”
“I understand.” He felt better now.
“So, I want to join the next play,” she said. “Do you approve?”
He nodded. “But promise me you won’t fall for any other boy.” He believed he sounded stupid. But he was so in love with her that he couldn’t imagine losing her to anyone else. She smiled.
“I promise to keep on making you jealous,” she said and laughed teasingly.
They embraced each other and ignored the whispers that chastised their love for each other. But what Leo didn’t know was that Emma would star as Scott’s love interest in the upcoming play.
