Chapter 29
“Wait, Isabella,” Leo’s voice echoed in the hallway.
Isabella stopped where she stood and swayed to face him. An odd smile lit up her face.
Leo walked further to meet her pace. But he felt as though he was about to make a deal with the devil. The both of them could hear thunderous clapping from the theater hall.
“I’m sure Emma must have outdone herself,” she said without any hint of jealousy.
“She’s smart and talented,” Leo said.
“I guess it’s why you’re so fond of her.”
“So, what’s your plan exactly?”
Leo wanted her to cut to the chase. He was sure students would start trooping the hallway in no time. The play seemed like it was over. Isabella leaned forward, her body very close to his. She whispered into his ear.
“Why whisper?” He pulled back, cutting her short.
