Chapter 46. Do You Want to Die?

Lucien evaluated her facial expression as quickly as he could. He could tell she had figured out something so little to bring about that question, so he couldn't avoid her question now. Not even when he thought it best to, at least for her sake.

"Yes." He was plain with his answer. Anna swallowed and drew in more air.

"Be honest with me," she started and he nodded. "How many persons have died by your hands since yesterday before the fire?" She was asking for before the fire because that was when she noticed his mood change while he was with her.
