When Kenaco left, and they were in the elevator to go down, Lucien took her hand in his, noticing she was unusually quiet. He had expected she would have a lot to tell him about her first day, but she wasn’t saying anything, so he had to ask.
“How was your first day, Bunny?” He brushed the back of her palm with his thumb.
“It was okay.”
“Just okay? You don’t like it here?” He fixed his eyes on her, reading every movement and expression to figure out what she wasn’t telling him.
“I do. I love it,” Anna answered with a voice not so thrilled, but grateful.
