Chapter 49. Madness

When Kenaco left and they were in the elevator to go down, Lucien took her hand in his, noticing she was unusually quiet. He had expected she would have a lot to tell him about her first day, but she wasn't saying anything so he had to ask.

"How was your first day, Bunny?" He brushed the back of her palm with the thumb.

"It was okay."

"Just okay? You don't like it here?" He fixed his eyes on her, reading her every movement and expression to figure out the things she wasn't telling him.

"I do. I love it," Anna answered with a voice not so thrilled, but grateful.

Lucien sighed, "I can call someone else and you can change institutes if you don't like this place."

"Oh, I do. What are you saying? Do you know how many later I emailed and how many videos I've sent? This place is literally my dream. I like it."

Lucien smiled, happy he was drawing out words from her.
