Chapter 69. Where Is She Headed?

Charles sat up in bed, back against the bed stand, as he turned the paper Mario had given him front and back again. He had been staring at it, unable to sleep.

“Charles,” Lucien had called him earlier. “See my brother out.”

“Yes, sir.”

After Lucien had left for upstairs, Mario got out of his seat and walked up to him. Mario stood so close to him, it made him uneasy, so he started to look around to confirm no one else was in the room with them.

He felt Mario’s soft hands when he brushed his cheeks softly and then his chin. Mario had chuckled. “Relax, will you? No one’s watching.”
