Chapter 66. Obsession
Anna stepped closer, fingers hesitating on the doorknob before gently pushing it open. The room was dim, bathed in the same red light that had seeped into the hallway. It wasn’t harsh, more like the soft hue of a darkroom. But it wasn’t the lighting that held her still, it was what covered the walls.
Her face.
Her breath caught in her throat. Every wall was covered in her. Her body tensed up but it was soon comforted by the scent of warm cedarwood and something that smelled like Lucien.
She took few steps in. They were photographs of her, hundreds of them framed the space like wallpaper. Snapshots frozen in time. There was one of her sitting alone on a park bench, one of her reaching for a book at a store, one with her laughing with her friend, Kel, there was also one with walking down the street with her head tilted toward the sun. All candid. All taken without her knowing.
But it didn’t end there. Beneath the photographs were paintings. Beautiful, haunting
