Chapter 16
Dried tears streaked Emma's cheeks. The woman was still alone, in that office that seemed to be her new home for days. Everything was silent. There was dust on the floor and bullet marks on the wall. Surely everyone was talking about themselves now, talking about that other woman and what Sebastian had done to her.
Emma was sitting on the sofa. His eyes stared at nothing. Her mind was racing, but her body was petrified.
Had Sebastian really done that to himself? she wondered.
The woman sighed, reaching for her cell phone. He didn't really know what to do, he already had the feeling of giving up inside his own chest, so there was no point in trying to call Sebastian. He famously now had another option.
Emma then logged into the messaging app and searched for Katy.
Emma:
|Where are you?
Katy:
|I'm still at home. I was about to call you, you didn't tell me anything else. How are you? Did Sebastian show up yet?
Emma:
|No. He still has
