Patrick Banks POV

“Why didn’t anybody tell me she was sick?” I yelled as I walked up the stairs.

The housekeeper trailed behind me. “She specifically told us to keep it away from you.” She replied, her voice low.

Wow. I couldn’t believe what was happening.

Did she hate me that much?

Apparently, my mother had been seriously sick for a few weeks. And she didn’t care to tell me about it.

Nobody cared to tell me about it.

The housekeeper was even skeptical about letting me go upstairs at first, she was scared that my mother would be upset.

I had to threaten her before she eventually stepped out of the way.

When I got to my mother’s room, I didn’t even bother to knock on the door, I just pushed the door open.

Fortunately enough, she was awake. When she saw me, she had a puzzled expression on her face.

“Who let you inside? Who even let you up here?” She asked, her voice faint. “I’ll make sure they get fired.”
