I let out a deep breath, bracing myself for what she was about to say.

“I’m listening, tell me.” I swallowed hard.

There was a pause.

Then she let out a sigh. “I want you to go to the media…I don’t know, whatever. You have to confess to everyone about what you did that day.” She said, her tone serious. “You and Valerie.”

My heart skipped a beat.

Did she know about it?

Did Benjamin tell her about everything?

“What?” A low gasp escaped my lips. “What are you talking about?” I asked, feigning ignorance.

I had no idea what she knew, but I couldn’t take any chances by acknowledging that Valerie and I actually did something.
