Patrick Banks POV

“She doesn’t want you to know, but I just feel like I’m obligated to tell you.” Valerie’s mom added after she informed me that Valerie was at the hospital.

Apparently, she went over to confront Jessica and passed out during the process. “Thank you for telling me.” I expressed my gratitude, meaning every word.

“I’ll find Jessica. You can meet Valerie at the hospital.”

“What if she’s upset and doesn’t want to see me?” I asked her mother, my voice laced with concern. I was worried that she might end up chasing me away from the hospital.

Valerie seemed pretty determined to end our marriage.

Initially, I wanted to give her a little bit of space, so she would be able to process anything. I wanted her to calm down before trying to talk things out again.

“You’ll figure something out.” Her mother responded before grabbing her bag and walking out of the house.

I exhaled deeply and went upstairs to pick up my keys.
