Valerie Will POV

Surprisingly, lunch with Celeste wasn’t weird.

There was a little bit of tension at first, but it disappeared quickly. Our conversations flowed effortlessly and it was just as if nothing had changed between us.

We had a lot to catch up on, and one day wasn’t even enough.

She told me about how life was after I left.

She showed me pictures of her weddings and other milestones in her life. I still felt guilty that I didn’t get to attend her wedding.

But she assured me that it didn’t matter.

We had each other now.

Celeste was surprised to hear that I was in a relationship with Jamal. I told her everything that happened from when I left New York to how my life turned out in Texas.

I also told her about Liam and she couldn’t wait to meet him.

We literally talked about everything and suddenly it felt like the old times again. But our reunion was cut short because she had to leave for an important meeting.
