Chapter 68

Ash's POV

It hurt that she thought I was sleeping with Paula. Did she really think that low of me? Did she think that after everything that had happened between us, I was going to go straight to Paula? I was not even attracted to the woman. How was it that Riley could not see that I had eyes for her only? How?

I swallowed. "I'm not sleeping with Paula," I told her.

She shook her head like she could not believe what I was saying. "But you also don't want me so let me go." 

I noticed the tears in her eyes. They had become more of a solace to her than I ever could be. I hated seeing her this way. I hated that I was so helpless and I could not do anything for her.

"I'm not sleeping with Paula. I don't want you to go. Stay with me." I told her as I moved to hold the box, one she held in a tight grip.
