Chapter 22
Gen’s back was hurting from attempting to sit up straight for this long, but she wanted to make a statement. She had asked that Dom come to the restaurant when she was sure everybody had left. What she was about to do was already going to cause drama, but she’d rather it didn’t begin just yet.
Dom was punctual, and to her greatest surprise, he wasn’t gloating about her request to see him or what it signified. Their minds seemed to be working together. They were both going to approach this as work. Strictly business. It was going to be hard. Especially since she now knew the truth. Everything.
Now that she knew the truth, it all made sense. This man was a horrible person. He always had been, and she was doing absolutely nothing wrong in taking up this offer. As a matter of fact, it was the right thing to do. Zara deserved everything she had been deprived of all these years because her mother couldn’t afford them, and her father was lost somewhere in the world.
