For the next couple of weeks, they had fallen into a pattern. She’d wake up in the morning and have a bath before Dom got out of bed. While she made breakfast, Dom got dressed. Breakfast was a tense, quiet affair; unspoken words hung between them.
Gen wanted to ask Dominic sometimes where he had run off to all those years ago, but she remembered what was at stake with his knowledge and decided to keep silent. Some other days, she just wanted friendly, casual conversations, but no.
They simply sat opposite each other and ate, Dom many times taking call after call, sending out emails, or getting up to date on the news, and Gen mostly on the phone texting Tiana. In the middle of this, Gen always found some time between her bath and breakfast to say hi to Zara, mostly through voice messages.
