Chapter 97. Burdened

Ethan listened to Alex attentively and noted everything he told him.

“Make sure to keep me updated if you figure out anything,” Ethan told him as they shook hands after the conversation as Alex was ready to leave.

“I would.” Alex assured.

Alex drove back home feeling very heavy in his spirit. He had thought the burden he felt was because he had not said the truth of what he knew about Bob’s death but he did not get any ease after doing that. He wondered what the problem was.

It was already night when he got back home because he had left in the evening. He walked into the house and everywhere was silent. They had all gone to bed early. Alex walked to the bedroom and opened the door slowly.

Isabella was already fast asleep. He changed and slipped to the bed beside her.

“Where did you go to Alex?” she asked immediately his head hit the pillow. Alex turned to look at her. She was backing him.

“I had gone to see the detective,” he told her.
