Chapter 154. Released

The others in the room looked up when Ryder approached, and Alex stood up to greet him.

“Sir, you are welcome,” he offered his hand for a handshake, and Ryder took it firmly.

“How are you doing?” he asked him, and Alexander nodded.

“I have been fine. Thank you, sir.”

Dave and Jane also greeted him, and he nodded at them.

“We were just talking about you now when you walked in,” Alexander told him.

“Oh, is that so? Talk about the devil, huh?” Ryder chortled, as was in his nature, at his little attempt of a joke. The others in the room did not exactly find it funny and wondered what they were to do with such a statement, but because Ryder was laughing at it, they decided it was not wrong to join him after all, so they all laughed. A very short and precise laughter that stopped on the lips and did not reach the chest.

“So what were you guys discussing about me?” Ryder asked, and Alexander shrugged lightly.

Not really a discussion, though,”
