Chapter 153. Not the Right Time

Bethany tried to speak but the words got stuck in her throat as she tried hard to believe what she had just heard. She opened her mouth but no words came out.

“Are you still there ma’am?” Sky’s voice brought her back to the phone call.

“What did you just say?” She heard to ask again to be sure she had heard well.

“I said the boss is back home,” Sky repeated and she shook her head.

“How is that even possible?” she muttered to herself but Sky heard her over the phone.

“Never mind. I will be there soon.” She quickly ended the call.

“What is the matter?” Jason who had been watching her and listening to the conversation, asked her. He did not know what the person at the other end of the call said but he saw he reaction and it showed that something was wrong. He touched her lightly on the shoulder when she looked lost in thoughts and she shot him a hot glance.
