Chapter 155. Not at the Instant

Bethany sat on a low stool beside Maxwell who was on the bed while the doctor attended to him. He had been all cleaned up now and refreshed with bandages all over his body and especially on the clipped hand which Bethany could not stop looking at.

She could not wait for the doctor to be done so could ask Maxwell yet again, who had done that to him. She had been so baffled she could not get it off her mind. She would scared to death if she find out it was Alexander. Somehow and for some reasons, she had a reason to believe he was the one even though he told he was not when she confronted him.

If not so, why had Maxwell returned after she left his place. And if he was the one then she would be so damned that she had underestimated and looked down on Alexander because she would never have thought he would do such a thing.

Well yeah, Alex loved to act as though he was very tough and ruthless but truth was that he still had some softness which made him different from Ma
