Chapter 42. A Glimpse

Isabella wished the ground would swallow her up and whisk her away from Jane’s stupid grin and knowing eyes.

They were alone. Alexander had gotten a last-minute call and left her safety in the hands of her friend, Jane. He had successfully managed to escape the drilling, but she was stuck here, forced to listen to Jane blabber on regarding the complexity of love.

It was only a matter of time before Jane would question her concerning the scene she witnessed.
