Chapter 53. Daring
Alexander walked up to the porch of the house he grew up in. He took a moment to admire the strong foundation that had somehow managed to stand regardless of the chaos that ensued inside it.
He patted a white pillar, sighing as he prepared his mind for what was to come. His father was not an easy man to deal with, and even worse so with his son.
He rang the doorbell, waiting for three seconds before a brooding house help pulled open the door. She didn’t bother to give the usual courteous greeting; instead, she kept staring until he spoke up.
“I’m here to see my parents,” Alexander drawled out.
Her eyes brightened up considerably. “Welcome, sir. Welcome.”
