Chapter 56. The Perfect Outfit
“I’m going shopping with Jane today,” Isabella announced as Alexander watched her make breakfast.
Gretchen had left the job after relocating, but Alexander never bothered to find someone new after that. Isabella didn’t mind; she loved cooking.
“Yeah?” he smiled mysteriously. “I never pegged you as a shopping fan.”
“God, no. I absolutely detest it,” she broke the egg into the greased pan.
“Then why did you consent to it?”
“This one is unavoidable. I can only escape it for so long.”
He buried his hand in his jacket, pulling out a wallet. Alexander fished out a black card, dropping it on the kitchen island. The contract between the spotless white of the island and the black of the card was hard to miss.
Isabella’s eyes slowly traveled up to him.
She first got over the fact that he had a black card. Of course, he has a black card,
