Chapter 7. Alpha's Mate

The beast turned to face her, and she could see the creature’s red eyes looking into hers. The beast leapt from her side and sat down the instant she heard a steady, quiet roar. 

Why was it gazing at her so strangely? Could it read her mind?

She was perplexed. 

Titus realized that enticing his prey was the only way he could catch it. He’d just gone to the party for that purpose. He was fully aware of his attraction, and enticing ladies into the woods with him so he could devour them had always worked in his favor. 

There was no exemption for the girl he met at the party. She fell in love with him at first sight, and he could even feel her heartbeat as he caught her in his arms. She would be too simple and sweet to eat. 

He couldn’t deny that she was beautiful. Titus needed to quit deluding himself about her being the most beautiful person he had ever seen or was about to devour. She was going to be his meal, no matter how gorgeo
