Chapter 22

Maurice looked at Hadley who was just staring at him blankly and he wondered if she was not the woman that was staring at him earlier.

Was I mistaken? Maurice pondered but he decided not to dwell on it.

"What do you mean you cook?" Maurice asked, trying to change the subject and Hadley looked flustered hearing that.

How was she going to explain to him that she was trying to be a good wife to him, there was just no way of pleasing the man, Hadley pondered but she decided to still act sweet.

"Humm did you want to eat now?" Hadley asked and Maurice creased his eyebrow. He was very sure that Ella was a girl that was raised with absolute care and lived so he just does not know how she can cook.

"You can cook?" Maurice asked taking brisk steps towards Hadley and she shifted back in fear.
