Chapter 20

Audrey got home after getting Henry’s fingerprint. She found a box on her bed and opened it, gasping at what she saw. She brought out the cloth and raised it; it was a long, silky red gown with tiny straps.

“It’s beautiful,” she muttered.

She saw a letter beside it and took it. “Wear this and follow the driver,” she read and chuckled. “Why is he acting caring?” she mumbled to herself.

She went into the bathroom and took a long bath, taking time to wash her body thoroughly. She emerged from the bathroom with a short towel tied around her body, drops of water dripping from her hair.

She put on the gown and checked herself out in the mirror. The gown had a slit that reached her thigh. She took a long pair of earrings also in the box and wore them. She applied makeup and wore the red heels that were also in the box, then took a purse and went out.

She went to the driver, and he drove her out, completely forgetting about Madelyn, who was locked in the room.<
