Chapter 17. Three Dances
Lexcis Aeden
So here we are, two people sitting on a throne, two people who are supposed to be deeply in love with each other. On the outside.
But on the inside, the hatred has taken a new form.
Chantel and I have been arguing since this morning. We've even tried to harm each other on multiple occasions, but we both know we need to wait.
At least I need to wait. I'm not sure what she has planned.
Chantel is going to be seated next to me for the entire night. Dinner was dreadful, and I'm afraid the ball will be too.
Only a few more hours at most, and I can end this suffering. My suffering.
Laurence is making his way to me from across the ballroom. His face tells me that he's determined, and I already know that I won't like what he has to say.
"Your majesty," he bows.
If he can do it, then why can't Chantel? Maybe I should make her; she can't refuse in front of so many people.
