Chapter 18. It’s Time

She's still having a difficult time steadying her breathing, but it's working. Maybe talking can distract and help her.
"Don't you like it? What would you prefer?" I ask her, a playful grin on my face.
"Just Chantel. You know that," she simply answers.
"Well alright then, Chantel," I say, raising my hands in mock surrender. I can't help but notice a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. She keeps gazing into my eyes while she's smiling, and I don't know why it affects me this much.
She hastily darts her eyes away and presses her forehead against my chest. A modest maneuver to conceal her smile from me.
I decide to tease her a bit more since it seems to be helping. It catches her off guard. I pull her even closer to me, tightening my grip. The space between us is now gone. I move my hand from her waist up to her back, inching toward her neck.
