As the man starts to sing, I notice Lexcis mouthing along. I can't help but smile. I place my head on the edge of the couch, gazing up at him.

His eyelashes brush against his reddened cheeks each time he blinks, his hands in front of him moving along to the words of the song, dancing in their own special way.

"But we're alone now and I'm singing this song to you," he serenades, his voice resonating through the room.

At this point, he's full-on singing. He steps towards me, taking my hands into his stronger ones. Lexcis helps me up, his hand on the small of my back as he starts to sway us. I stare up at him, enjoying him like this.

"I know your image of me is what I hoped to be. I treated you unkindly. But darling, can't you see? There's no one more important to me. Baby, can't you see through me?" His voice carries the emotion of the lyrics, wrapping around us like a warm embrace
