Chapter 26. Humble Beginnings
Hunter’s POV
Fifteen years ago, I lived in a quiet village near the mountains, secluded from other human villages, but we didn’t care. There was a ravine close by with fish, and the soil was fertile enough to plant all manner of crops.
My father, however, was one of the most important people there. He was a hunter, the best you’d ever see. He could kill three wild fowls with a single toss of his throwing knife. My mother was the resident healer, capable of curing any illness, a real wizard when it came to making potions and antidotes. My sister, well, she was the talk of the town, on every young man’s lips. She was pretty and graceful, and all families wanted her as their daughter-in-law.
I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps and become a great hunter. I started training myself and got a few injuries every time I tried to hunt deer and big game.
