Chapter 56. Rekindled

Charlotte’s POV

I felt really tired after the battle against Rose, but I knew I had to continue running after Iris.

As I followed her scent, I also caught a whiff of some wolfsbane in a hole near a clearing in the forest.

I rushed in, thinking it might be Hunter, but it was only his gear I saw in the hole.

Carefully picking them up, I continued moving toward Iris. I could see there had been a battle here as well. The clearing in the forest widened, and I saw some rocks floating up into the air. Then, a green wolf charged into the rocks with a man in its jaws—that man was Hunter!

I ran there, but Iris got there before me, swiftly kicked the werewolf away—I assumed that was Rafael.

“Iris!” Hunter shouted in surprise.

“So, you let this guy kidnap you, huh? That’s really disappointing, Hunter,” she gave him the side eye.

“Oh please, he caught me off guard because of my fight with the Faux Lycan,” he said, standing back up and holdin
